About Amy
Amy McLennan is a social researcher, education innovator and systems thinker who’s all about improving population wellbeing. Her undergraduate training was in the medical sciences and French, and she completed doctoral and postdoctoral training in medical anthropology at the University of Oxford, in the world’s leading anthropology department. Her work on topics including chronic disease, women’s health, food systems and technology has reached audiences via a range of academic journals, government policy, and global media, including Aeon Magazine, The Guardian, ABC and BBC radio.

Amy has experience delivering cross-agency policy reform and professional education in the Australian Government’s Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and has designed and facilitated high-profile workshops in Paris, Bremen, Canberra, Sydney, New York, London and Oxford. She’s a collaborator at heart, and is most at home working to improve outcomes around intractable topics that span multiple fields of expertise.

In addition to being a John Monash Scholar, Amy is currently an A/Professor at the ANU, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an Evaluator for SXSW Sydney, a GSL Global Goals Hero, an Adjunct A/Prof at the Adelaide Medical School, and an International Fellow of Oxford’s Unit for Biocultural Variation and Obesity.
