About Emma

Emma Garlett is a Nyiyaparli, Yamatji and Noongar Traditional Owner from Geraldton, now based in Perth. Emma is Director of Garlett Group a firm specialising in communications, technology and sustainability. She is also an Industry Fellow at The University of Queensland and a Teaching Fellow in Law at The University of Western Australia. A qualified lawyer she is also a Member, First Nations Governance Forum, Australian Institute of Company Directors as well as a Member, Taxonomy Technical Expert Group for the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University and was the first Aboriginal person to graduate from both the Curtin Law School and the Curtin Business school with a double-degree. With her John Monash Scholarship, Emma is currently studying a Master of Laws (LLM) at the University of Auckland.
