About Jodi
Professor Jodi Gardner is the Brian Coote Chair in Private Law at the University of Auckland. She studied a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of international relations at Griffith University before using her John Monash scholarship to complete a DPhil in Consumer Protection at the University of Oxford. Prior to her studies and academic positions, Jodi’s qualified as a solicitor specialising in consumer protection. She has held positions at the University of Cambridge, and a College Lecturer at St John’s College, Columbia Law School and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, and is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. Jodi’s research investigates policy development towards a fair and transparent lending environment, and suitable regulatory responses to irresponsible lending. She specifically focuses on the relationship with social policy and the private law relating to banking and finance
