About Maris
Maris is a strategic advisor on the geopolitics of the green transition based in Copenhagen. He is Deputy Director at Kaya Partners, helping guide clients through the complexities and disruption of the climate transition. Primarily focusing on geopolitics, climate politics and finance, and critical raw materials. Formerly an Australian diplomat for 10 years, Maris served at the Australian embassies in Denmark, Sweden, Serbia and Croatia. In 2023-2024 he was also Associate Director for Climate and Sustainability at Global Counsel, leading international policy and regulatory advisory, and Co-Lead for RE100 (Climate Group), the largest global corporate renewables initiative with over 400 big businesses. Maris completed an MSc Politics and Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science as 2019 Australian Universities John Monash Scholar. Also studied at the Australian National University, the University of California Berkeley, the University of Cambridge and the University of Tokyo.
