About Milan
Milan Gandhi has a Master of Public Policy (Distinction) and MSc in Public Policy Research (Distinction) from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland. Milan works for Microsoft as part of its global AI public policy team, situated within the Office of Responsible AI. A core focus of Milan’s work is public policy for governing new and advanced AI capabilities, especially questions pertaining to frontier AI models. Immediately before joining Microsoft, Milan worked for digital and AI policy research institutions and think tanks, including Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, on multivarious ethical, legal and policy issues at the intersection of emerging technologies and society. Milan commenced his career as a construction litigation lawyer at McCullough Robertson’s Brisbane and Sydney offices before working for DMTC Ltd in a dual legal and policy role, assisting to drive innovation in Australia’s national security and related sectors. Milan also founded the Legal Forecast, a young lawyer organisation exploring the role of innovation in access to justice and legal practice.
