Miranda Gronow

About Miranda

Miranda Gronow is an archaeologist currently reading for an DPhil in Classical Archaeology at The University of Oxford. Miranda completed a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Classics and a Diploma of Languages in Latin, for which she was awarded the University Medal in Arts. She then went on to complete an MPhil in Classical Archaeology at the University of Oxford.

Miranda has excavated in Australia, Israel, Romania, and Turkey. Miranda has a background in commercial archaeological consultancy, and has contributed to excavation, survey, and research on a range of Indigenous and Historical archaeological projects in Victoria. Miranda is currently a member of the Oxford team excavating at Aphrodisias, Turkey, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site.

Miranda has an interest in heritage management and the dynamics of how modern populations interact with heritage. After finishing at Oxford, she aims to work as a heritage consultant, helping to shape how tangible and intangible heritage is managed in Australia.
