About Stephen
Stephen holds degrees in law and international business from Bond University, a Master of International Affairs from the ANU and a Master of Laws from Columbia Law School. Stephen is a career diplomat and currently serves as Director in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s FTA Services Branch. Since joining DFAT in 2009, he has served as a trade negotiator and international lawyer in Canberra, London, Geneva and New York. Stephen has also held appointments as Associate to the Hon Justice John Dowsett AM QC at the Federal Court of Australia, Congressional Fellow to US Senator Bob Casey and visiting fellowships at Georgetown University Law Center and Columbia Law School. His studies at Columbia were supported by the Susan & Isaac Wakil Foundation John Monash Scholarship and focused on how the 4thindustrial revolution and state capitalism are reshaping the global trade and investment landscape.
