About Tom
Tom was born in Wellington and grew up in Dubbo, both in regional NSW. For the past eight years, he has been a professional rugby player for the NSW Waratahs, Western Force and has represented Australia by playing for the Wallabies, on over 30 occasions. Before he became a professional rugby player, Tom completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and was studying a Doctor of Medicine, both at the University of Sydney. Due to the time commitments of being a professional rugby player Tom suspended the Doctor of Medicine and instead completed a Master of Public Health and a Master of Philosophy (Medicine), both at the University of Sydney.
With his John Monash Scholarship, Tom completed a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford. Tom has resumed his rugby career back in Australia and plans to complete the Doctor of Medicine. Tom was elected as President of the Rugby Union Players Association in 2024.
