About Tristan
Tristan is a lawyer with a strong interest in public and constitutional law. He graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Science and a Juris Doctor (Dist) before spending two years as the Assistant to the Solicitor-General of Western Australia from 2021-2022, where he assisted with the provision of advice to government and in constitutional litigation before the High Court of Australia. Following that, he spent two years as an Associate to the Hon Justice Mark Leeming at the New South Wales Court of Appeal. In 2024-2025, with the support of a John Monash Scholarship, Tristan graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Law (Dist) from the University of Oxford, where he was awarded the Vinerian Scholarship (Proxime Accessit) for finishing 2nd overall in his cohort. Since returning to Australia, Tristan has worked as the Associate to the Hon Chief Justice Stephen Gageler AC at the High Court of Australia, and next year he will commence at the New South Wales Bar. Tristan has also authored a number of academic papers and articles, primarily in the field of constitutional and administrative law, and teaches public law to undergrad students at the Australian National University.
