Charlie runs Base Labs, a research lab by Baseten that works to advance and democratise open-source intelligence. Base Labs studies how models learn, remember, specialise and get cheaper to run, and publishes all of it (including, perhaps most importantly, what fails).
Charlie cofounded Parsed to build specialised open-source models that beat the frontier labs, which was acquired by Baseten at the end of 2025.
Charlie also cofounded Rake News, a news platform for personalised, debiased news with language models.
He likes basketball, writing, and reading anything his mum recommends.
