About Ling San
San has a Bachelor of Medical Science and an MBBS from the University of Tasmania with First Class Honours. After completing her Master of Public Health at Columbia University in New York. San stayed on as Research Scientist at the Heilbrunn Department of Population and Family Health and is now a Psychiatric Epidemiology Training (PET) Fellow at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, affiliated with the Care and Protection of Children (CPC) Learning Network and the Program on Forced Migration and Health. Her research is focused on children’s health, wellbeing, and protection globally.

San was the lead author of the “Global Threat Assessment 2025” released in December by WeProtect Global Alliance, a movement of more than 350 governments, civil society organisations, private-sector partners, and intergovernmental agencies working together to end technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and abuse.
