About Nick
Nicholas Duddy is a Forrest Postdoctoral Fellow in English and Literary Studies at the University of Western Australia. His research focuses on Anglophone literature, creative writing, and the medical and environmental humanities. He has received visiting research fellowships from Harvard University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Texas at Austin. He has taught English as part of volunteer and outreach programs to secondary schools and not-for-profit organisations, including the Australian Refugee Association and the Smith Family. He is the recipient of a 2026 ABC Top 5 Arts Media Residency. Raised in the Adelaide Hills on Peramangk land, he graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours and a University Medal before completing his Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Performance at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Supported by a John Monash Scholarship, he completed his doctorate in English at the University of Oxford in 2025.
