Reception at Government House South Australia introducing South Australian John Monash Scholar Nicholas Duddy
His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, the Governor of South Australia and Patron of the General Sir John Monash Foundation, hosted an intimate gathering of friends, supporters and Alumni to introduce and congratulate Nicholas Duddy, who has been awarded the Tim Fairfax AC John Monash Scholarship. Nicholas will proudly represent South Australia when he undertakes his PhD at Cornell University in the United States.
About 2020 Tim Fairfax AC John Monash Scholar Nicholas Duddy
Nicholas is a writer and theatre-maker from the Adelaide Hills. In 2018, he graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours in English and Creative Writing, and a University Medal. He is now completing his Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Performance at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Nicholas is passionate about connecting the creative arts with communities. He has volunteered with the Australian Refugee Association and The Smith Family. With his John Monash Scholarship, Nicholas will pursue a PhD in English Literature. In the future, he hopes to combine his interests in writing and teaching, storytelling and scholarship, art and academia.
